Janice Griffin, DVM
Dr. Griffin has loved animals all of her life. At a young age she began working in the horse barns around Timonium and in local animal hospitals. After high school she continued to work with animals and eventually received a degree in Veterinary Technology from Morehead State University in Kentucky. After earning her degree, she worked as a vet-tech in California while working on her college prerequisites for Vet school. After gaining acceptance to the Virginia Maryland Regional DVM program she enrolled at Virginia Tech. In 1992 she completed her degree and became a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, and has been practicing medicine for the last 25 years.
Dr. Griffin lives near Gambrill Park with her husband Glenn; and her four children, Matt, Hannah, Gracie, and Luke. They also share their home with two golden retrievers, six rescued cats, and a bunny. In her spare time, Dr. Griffin enjoys riding her horses, Pip and Devon.
Kathy Heck – Practice Manager
Kathy is our Practice Manager here at VVH has been with us since July of 2018. Kathy grew up in the area and has lived right here in Middletown for 25+ years with her husband Shawn and three children Ian, Nathan and Cora. Kathy and her family share their home with their many cats, a pug named Otis, 2 ferrets, and three dwarf hamsters. Kathy loves spending time at the beach and traveling to the caribbean. She enjoys anything outdoors. Kathy is as an active volunteer for the community and several organizations around the area.
Michelle Nelson – Receptionist
Michelle is our Receptionist here at VVH has been with us since April of 2023. Michelle and her husband James share two adorable dogs Oliver James the pug and Rosie Lou the english bulldog. Michelle is very passionate about animals and has a heart of gold. Michelle brings compassion and laughter to our team here at VVH.
Gina Lantella, CPDT-KA – Veterinary Assistant
Gina is our part-time veterinary assistant here at VVH, she’s been with us since May of 2021. Gina came to our practice with extensive knowledge in animal behavior Gina is a certified professional dog trainer as well as a certified fear free professional. Gina has 2 dogs Banjo and Pickle and 3 mischievous cats. Gina is continuing to gain knowledge and furthering her career in veterinary medicine with the many classes and seminars she attends.
Madison Campbell – Veterinary Assistant
Madison is a full-time veterinary assistant here at VVH, she’s been with us since March of 2022. Madison recently graduated from Salsibury University with a degree in biology and a minor in chemistry. Madison has two dogs Donnie and Zoey. Madison is passionate about animals and is looking forward to furthering her career to become a Registered Veterinary Technician.
Cora Heck – Veterinary Assistant
Cora is a full-time veterinary assistant here at VVH, she joined the practice in February of 2023. She loves spending time with her cat Hope, listening to music and watching videos. Upon graduating high school she enrolled in Penn Foster and is well on her way to becoming a Registered Veterinary Technician.
